Children of Crossville Orchestra

COCCO's main orchestra is open to students in 6th through 12th grade, and:

         Be able to play the G scale and D scale in 2 octaves.

         Know how to read and count half notes,

         quarter notes, eighth notes, and understand 

         the rule of the dot.

         Have a well-established 

       playing technique and have a good

      understanding of counting outside 

           of common time.

            If those goals are not met but are very soon to be   

          met, a teacher's recommendation is required.

In addition to local shows, COCCO students engage in chamber orchestra programs, participating in clinics and events offered by the East Tennessee School Band and Orchestra Association, as well as Tennessee Tech University. Many of our students go on to receive music scholarships, incorporating the skills and experiences gained during their time in COCCO into their future endeavors, truly enriching their lives.
